Nestled in the heart of Silicon Valley, the Stanford Dish is not only a popular hiking destination but also a local backdrop for an October fall photoshoot. Bergado Photography had the pleasure of capturing the love of our friends Lucy and Justin amidst the vibrant autumn foliage that defined this beautiful season, with rich hues of orange and gold enveloping the area.

The Perfect Setting

As we arrived at the Dish, we were in awe, the landscape alone fits into a panorama. The rolling hills and iconic dish structure offered a unique blend of natural beauty and modernity, perfect for framing intimate moments. During the session, we continued to be welcomed by warm, golden light across the terrain, illuminating the couple with a soft glow. A hidden gem amongst the Bay Area's busy and crowded locations.

Golden Hour Magic

As the sun began to set, we made our way to the end of the trail with a scenic overlook. The golden hour bathed the scene in warm light, enhancing the colors of fall and creating a dreamy atmosphere. The couple embraced the moment, and we encouraged them to share their favorite memories from their relationship and to just have fun. Their stories added an extra layer of playfulness to the photographs, making each shot feel vibrant.

The main loop trail spans about 3.5 miles and takes about an hour and fifteen minutes to walk, providing ample opportunities for capturing beautiful moments amidst nature. With three convenient gated entrances: the popular Stanford Ave. Gate, the Gerona Gate near Lake Lagunita and the Alpine gate near Interstate 280—couples can easily access the park while enjoying the scenic route. The Dish's breathtaking views and ever-changing surroundings create the perfect backdrop for charming photos, regardless of the season. Also be mindful of wildlife (ie: coyotes, snakes and spiders) can be roaming the fields and open areas!
