Royal Convenience

Gyeongbokgung Palace is easily accessible via public transport, making it an ideal spot for couples to plan their photoshoot. With entrance fees set at a reasonable 3,000 won for adults and the added benefit of free guided tours available in multiple languages, it’s an inviting destination for both locals and visitors. The palace is open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM during the warmer months and until 5:00 PM in fall and winter, providing ample time to explore before sunset. A unique perk is that entry is free for those dressed in hanbok, the traditional Korean attire known for its vibrant colors and elegant designs. Nearby hanbok rentals also offer convenient options for hair and makeup, enhancing the experience.

Enchanting Moments

As we navigated the palace grounds, we were greeted by beautiful pavilions and halls that contrasted strikingly with the setting sun. At Heumgyeonggak Pavilion and Hamhwadang Hall, the stunning architecture perfectly mirrored the deep emotions shared between Bettina and Don. Traveling all the way from the Philippines to celebrate this significant moment in one of their favorite cities, they were enveloped in the rich history and beauty of the palace, which holds special memories from their first date. This setting created an intimate atmosphere that resonated in every photograph. The warm golden hour light danced across the intricate details of the structures, adding a magical glow to their shared smiles and tender glances. In the pavilion’s serene environment, Bettina and Don experienced an effortless connection, making it the perfect backdrop for capturing their heartfelt expressions of joy.

Timing is Everything

It’s important to remember that as sunset approaches, guards will begin to usher visitors toward the exit. We decided to make the most of our timing by having Bettina and Don run through the palace in their hanboks and cross the Yeongjegyo Bridge, adding an element of movement and fun to their photoshoot.
